About Us

Sudanese Community Peterborough

ABOUT US

We are a new community organisation based in Peterborough set up to help support refugees from Sudan. We estimate that there are about 200 refugees in the area from Sudan.

Our new community support group aims to develop activities and services designed to help them find their way around in new surroundings, get jobs, make new friends and develop social networks that can support them as they settle into a new community.

WHO WE ARE

About us.

Many Sudanese who come to the UK - and then to Peterborough - are escaping the very worst kinds of human rights abuses in their home country.

Many of them as refugees take desperate measures to seek sanctuary here. In fact, our community is one of the fastest-growing groups of asylum-seekers to Britain, many of whom have recently fled fresh fighting after the vicious campaign of ethnic cleansing in the western region of Darfur.
